Get off shot

Get your mind out of the gutter ! I'm bored , I'm waiting for some new tires for my track bike and I can't find a SR crankset for the Bianchi , well at least not for a decent price if there is such a thing . OK here are the rules , the shot must be before impact , just the get off . No aftermath . Absolutely no blood and guts . Also C&V . Lets have some fun .

Not a bicycle. And to be honest, I don't recall if I ate it or not, but I was young and stupid and crashed a lot trying to do tricks. Definitely vintage, that is an all-wood Burton Performer, circa 1983-ish.

UGH, this was me in 5th grade. I still have the scar from the one side of the handlebar burying into my lower abdomen.... :twitchy:

Oh, but not literally me. Just an accident just like this on a bike like this.

Ha, great shot. You were just ahead of the board boom, especially for the Midwest. Ski resorts were yet resistant to them.

Funny and thinking back to the year you posted above, (I forget exactly maybe 1983-84) and with my ski buds in Steamboat only one had a 'mono-ski'. He was an odd sight and there were NO snowboards.

I wish I had a picture....Going downhill on a mtn bike trail. My wife's (Vintage Cannondale mtb) front wheel hit something and launched her forward over the bike. Somehow she landed on her feet and ran the remaining 20 feet to the bottom of the hill.

Second one looks staged. Bike and rider end up in a similar twisted position? And who would stop to take that shot before helping the guy out of that position.
What do you think?

I could think of a few people that might take the pic first but after a closer look, Yeah, I think your right looks staged. I 'll take a demerit... what about this one?
Faceplant and gravel sandwich!

Yes, I believe this one. Looks like it's going to hurt.

Maybe Zap will start a "Crash & Burn" page as the final page in each issue of Road Bike Magazine if he sees these. Rick Sieman knew those would draw a crowd of readers.

far better than any of the other alternatives....and you can laugh safely (maybe :) )

No pictures, just scars and memories. Always wanted to be a stunt man when I was young. Crashing as an art form, if you will.

Doing a Superman with a skirt on never really crossed my mind.

I took that snowboard to Steamboat in spring 1985. Walked up to the gondola, operator asked, "What's that?" I said "snowboard." He said, "What do you do with it?" I say, "Strap on my feet and go down the hill." He said, "Not on this hill you don't."

Spring 1986 I take it to Killington, Vermont. Literally down the street from Burton. Walked up to the gondola, operator asked, "What's that?" I said "snowboard." He said, "What do you do with it?" I say, "Strap on my feet and go down the hill." He said, "Not on this hill you don't."

:bang:

btw, back in 1985, Steamboat only had green and black-diamond mogul fields at the base of the mountain, no blues. Greens are boring so one night after they shut down, I walked that board to the top of a mogul field. Took me over an hour to do so, big run, steep, truly difficult. I found out quickly it is impossible to board moguls. Of course, being young and not too bright, I tried to do it twice. The second fall was epic and I paid for it for a week.

:(
