https://farm1.staticflickr.com/305/2...60efa04b_b.jpg Maybe they wised-up and realized the huge gap in their track product offerings. They currently have 2 (aluminum and steel) $1,000USD frames and 2 (carbon) $10,000USD frames and nothing in between. They probably realized that most of their customers were passing on the aluminum and steel track frames and wanted carbon but weren't going to pay $10,000USD for it. Smart move that took too long to make :D EDIT: It's fake :( EDIT EDIT: OK maybe not fake. Need more info. |
Is this for real? I can't find any more details online?

- Miche chainring - Double-straps (not showing off LOOK pedals) - "Flip flop rear wheel" = Mavic Comete which is not flop flop I'm an idiot. It's fake. Maybe a student's industrial design project. EDIT: Maybe it's not fake. But I'd like to see more on this before I get excited. |
As far as I know the frame is for real, aimed at the omnium, to be released around September this year.
|
It does makes sense for them to have. They have plenty of road bikes, why not offer a track bike for the masses too.
The ad is odd, obviously would not come with those wheels so why picture it with it. I guess we'll see. |
it's not a fake people:

Another angle
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=470633 Seems like all that LOOK did is swap out the HT. The widening of the bottom aspect of the TT at the ST is identical, as is the crease one the side of the DT and fork blades. ST clamp looks different. Also looks like LOOK took their pic on more of an angle so that it was harder to compare the kinks in the CS. |
In my photo it appears they changed the HT. If this is the case, it is a very expensive paint job! £1799 just to have the Look scheme...

Also known as Pricipia:

Dammit, LOOK.
They pretty much phoned this one in. For non US folks: Phone It In means: to put in a half assed effort at something, but complete it. Often pertaining to work which is complete and pretending to have worked a long time on, when in fact little to no effort was put into it. Derived from deciding to not physically attend a meeting in, but rather to be present by phone only. |
This really sucks.
One of the largest, most successful, and technically innovative bike companies in the world and (arguably) the leader in making world-class track racing frames with their team of engineers simply opens a white-label catalog and orders the same frames that any small business owner can...and proceeds to mark them up astronomically. Yeah, I know it's probably not feasible for them to hand craft them to order like they do the 496 and 596. But, at least they can have a new, unique mold created for mass production...and not use one that's been around for nearly 10 years. I wonder if they thought people wouldn't notice? |

I'd be happy racing one, would just rather pay less and not bother with the colour scheme which I don't like the Look of anyway... Sorry couldn't help myself. |

Not that there is anything wrong with the Axman frame. These have been rebranded by a few companies and perform very well...

haven't checked it out thoroughly, but looks good at first glance actual testing will always trump projections - but it has certainly gotten me into the ballpark on several things. |
If you have a PM and want to aero field testing - try using GoldenCheetah Aerolab.
