SKS fender installation can be a real PITA, but the struts were finally trimmed today. That's the best I can do on fender line.

Trek 510 Ishiwata frameset to which I had a local framebuilder add some braze-ons; cable guides and stops, canti bosses, rack and lowrider bosses, bottle bosses. Sprayed with Krylon Titanium (everyone needs some Ti, right?) from Lowe's and ready to go. Unfortunately, bikes of this vintage can't take a very wide tire and this one is limited to 30C but that's okay for smooth roads.

Needs a photo without all the shadows.

My idea of a city bike conversion is to add a handlebar bag, Pletscher rack, and (not shown) panniers. :)

I also find a 93.5" (45/13) top gear -- not much over a typical English 3-speed's top gear -- more than adequate for city and suburbs.

My Raleigh Olympian, converted to 650B with Tractor Supply horse saddlebags. I flipped the saddlebags around recently to lessen the chance of heel strike.

A late 60s Raleigh Super course that had been in my buddy's basement shop for about 20 years that I rehabbed and reimaged as an Upright Gentleman's city bicycle

I was also thinking recently I need to find a deal on an entry level bike boom road bike and rehab it as a city bike to see if it garners more interest that way than as a nicely rebuilt entry level road bike.

1984 Trek 500 currently being converted to city(ish) bike. I live in the woods and it is hilly so I keep the triple.

Hmm. All my bikes could be city bikes 'cept for the skinnier sew-up tires maybe.

I think I have said the same on other bikes you have shared.

I need a trip east. What to do with a dog for 2 days of 6 hr. bike rides? Will search doggie day care options.

Flat around the lakes, right?

You gotta do The Trail of the Coeur d' Alenes. It runs along the lake for about 15 miles and then follows the river toward Montana almost 60 more. No "real" hills. A few very mild grades. Wide, Groomed, maintained, and billiard table schmooooth. Tons of wildlife and every 100 feet is another photo opportunity. The vast majority of it is far removed from towns and highways, so it's really peaceful.

For a while, my 1971 Raleigh Super Course was a townie bike.

Currently, my 1975 Viscount is a fixie-townie.

these will be familiar to those who have been around but they have stood the test of time

83 Nishiki. Original frame, fork and seatpost. This was what got me back into wrenching on bikes. Coldset the frame, have rebuilt one wheel, headset install, 700cm conversion, rattle can paint job, you name I did it pretty much :)

1x8 drive frame, Campy crankset and bb, cheapy thumb shifter, tectro long reach brakes, brooks b17, nitto stem and bars, gets regular use to jump on and get stuff on the weekend, backup commuter

http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...psosorq8nq.jpg

84 Torpado Super simple conversion, Velop orange postino bars, tektro city brake levers and a wald basket, that is it (I have put this back to original, but this was super fun in this format, but a bit redundant to the nishki)
