Yes it is it is a tour easy clone made from the plans that company put out a few years ago. I would not be afraid to take it across the country or around the world but if I was taking it around the world I would have better componets put on it I just used parts off my old mtn bike to build it. I would like to put a 9 spd cassette on it instead of the 7 spd on it now. Right now I got a shimano 505 rear derailer and a shimano tourney front derailer Two sun friction shifters. and nashbar 26x1.50 on the rear and a kenda 20 x1.95 on the front.

if you build it per the plans on his site you wont regret it the bike is awesome and once you get used to riding it you can upgrade it as much as you please. Mr carson built mine for me out of mtn bike parts so it is very sturdy .and made to hold the weight of a loaded tourer .I am next contemplating getting the mach3 or or 2 haven't decided yet.

Picked up this 3G Newport off CL. Assumed it was the steel version, turns out it's the AL frame, 3.45 Boa tires, 3 piece crank & Nexus 3 speed, $100

Her name is Harriet and she started off life as a Del Sol Tradewind from 2007. I bought her from an antique store for 80 bucks! She's always a work in progress but one day she'll be done.

That old Schwinn speedometer is cool. Find a cable for it and see if you can ride the bike at 30 mph! ;)

First post; I wrote a very decent introduction only to get logged out when I went to preview my post. (Don't you hate that!?)
I picked this up for $50 after spotting it on the side of the road leaning on a house. A few hours spent doing bearings and scuffing off surface rust and it's now my daily while my 'goose is laid up getting paint and a few go fast parts for this coming spring. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=419212 |
Nice picture.

Hello everyone, I'm new here! Here's my 80's(I believe?) Murray USA cruiser with the 2 speed automatic torpedo hub. I just purchased the bike about a week ago. I plan on sanding, repainting the frame and upgrading a few parts. I have always had MTBs or BMX bikes. This is my first cruiser and I love it! :thumb:
How I got it http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=420471 After the new light and pedals and a quick cleaning http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=420472 |

just got both of these last week
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y29...ps22276e44.jpg walmart had the dolomite fat bikes on sale all last week. i had a gift card also so i got one while the getting was good. until i do something to it (i'm thinking fat cargo bike at the moment) it's a cruiser. the coker monster was on craigslist about 100mls away. i figured this was my best chance price/location/ actually having enough cash on hand to get one. went and got it yesterday. |
Sometimes I wish I'd never made this thread... all these cruisers that I'd love to own drive me nuts. Keep'em coming guys!
