Put the original bars back on and lowered the saddle. Now I want to take it back home and ride it all around my neighborhood. :)

I only have still 3 of the bikes pictured. I fix them up, ride them around a while and sell them, usually for a little profit. There's about 20 other bikes not pictured. I try to make the hobby pay for itself so the SO doesn't get upset but she doesn't care for the clutter either. Beats collecting cars.

I just got my mom a Schwinn Signature Series Hollywood for Mother's Day and her 45th Wedding Anniversary.

Do those single speed bikes with 4" tires do well in mud and snow? I may be needing a new bike.

Here's my late '80s Schwinn Cruiser Supreme. When I bought it ca. 2008, it was original I think, with no fenders, knobby tires, and super wide handlebars and BMX stem, and an awful saddle that was emblazoned 'Super Wide Comfy' or something. Didn't have any particular plan for it, but the price was right and the seller was close by and I was curious. I didn't like the handlebars, and coincidentally had a stem from an old Schwinn Continental (with the same odd Schwinn stem diameter). The Continental's Twin Stick shifter replaced the original thumb shifter. So that's what it got, drop bars and all. But I'm getting older and the upright bars are more comfortable now. It's become my favorite bike, a nice 'old-man's' commuter. It's a tig-welded hi-ten Taiwanese frame. Nice stable Schwinn handling. Had to change out the rear wheel - the original rim gave up after being improperly loose probably its whole life. Only thing that sucks are the brakes, I'd call them 'barely adequate', and this is a serious problem, could get me hurt. It's this that has me thinking of getting a shiny new commuter.

Black 1968 Speedster... Love this! I was 8 years old in 1968, and got one of these, black, ( but mine was a single speed / coaster brake ) that I rode until I outgrew it. Did some early attempts at wrenching, I recall taking apart the front hub, probably for no good reason.... Riding on a narrow path in the woods by the river and railroad tracks, hit a root & fell over - into poison ivy. Learned what poison ivy looked like... Racing a thunderstorm home.... Riding through the city & being aware that a tire was going flat, trying to make it home before it went flat... Standing to pedal up a certain hill... The 'shhhhh' sound from the coaster brake going down same hill to the stop sign at the highway... Circling with the other neighborhood kids in the little parking lot, striking a pedal and skinning knee and elbow... Ah, memories. It was handed down and eventually rummage-saled away.

Got this one for $50 at a thrift store. It was pretty rusty so I shot a bunch of WD-40 on it and now it runs fine. I usually look for a rideable 2nd cruiser at the beginning of summer then sell it in October. As long as I don't spend over $80 total I'm good. Didn't check it close enough - had to put a new used front wheel on it. With the wheel and a new rear tube I'm almost at my limit.

A newer Canadian Huffy my wife wanted. It does have nice lines. Went though it to make sure all was well before letting her ride it.

According to all the reports, they float over obstacles.

Thank you. It was a great find. It was dirty and neglected for years. probably stored many years because under the grime it was amazing. Still has the original dunlop tires on it, no crack, no fading and you can read every letter like from the factory. Missing some parts but I love the simplicity without them
