I hadn't ridden the Trek 414 in months and months. A lovely rider. I very much enjoy the narrow handlebars. I wish I had them on all my bikes.

What's the point if the answer is unknown?

Junior versus Senior in hoops.

You'd be surprised how long it takes.

I had a case a while back where two kids were pushing their bikes on railroad tracks. They found themselves on a bridge crossing an interstate highway and a train coming. One kid got off. The other got his pedal stuck in the track and wouldn't leave it. The train hit the bike causing the kid to get knocked off the bridge. Fell onto the highway and died. The engineer and crew hit the emergency brake as soon as they saw the kids over a mile away (there was some curve to the track leading to the bridge), but it did no good. I never saw a grown man cry like the engineer did when he was asked to recount what happened. Sad deal all the way around.

That's a terrible story.

Years ago, I was explaining to the CEO of the startup where i worked that what I was attempting to do wasn't something where you could guarantee success by having more people try it - "It will work, or it won't. That's why we call them 'experiments'."

Little early for Vol hoops. You shouldn't be allowed to have your 12 year old grandson on the bench.

It’s easy. I just use the skill set that I learned from reading posts from our most prolific addiction posters. :thumb:

Did she write a manifesto while she was gone?

Damnit. My daughter smashed her thumb in a doorway last night. She says it still hurts a lot today, and wants to make a trip to Urgent Care for an x-ray after school today. This is going to put a damper on our trip this weekend to visit a college that is recruiting her to play softball. We're still going, but she might be very limited in what she can do on the field. If it's fractured, this will be her 7th fractured finger since she started playing the game. Most of them have not been on a softball field.

Also, another fun time is counting masks and guessing who is vaccinated and who isn’t.

Sometimes, the participants make it *way* too easy.

My bike club is having a little party/get-together this evening with pizza and beer. Based on my recommendations, it is outdoors which I think is safest. Of course I have already heard from some people who think it should be indoors.

Besides, fall is an awesome time for outdoor gatherings. The best!

I was thinking t-shirts with the word "freedom," references to the Constitution, etc, etc. You know - my sister-in-law's wardrobe.

Same message, though. ;)

True, the humidity is still a bit on the high side, but this week has produced a string of gorgeous days, by subtropical standards.
And I need to learn(again) to take a recovery day between two exertive days I got back from my ride and have barely left the hammock. I had more exertion planned for this afternoon.

A lot of hiking and mountain biking. She brought her weights and mat. (After) COVID, she was done with the boys.

I wonder if that would work for spurious thoughts and memories. I seem to have invasive thoughts as I get older that get stuck from time to time.

Where's the mountain place?

Took my first trip to Colorado a few weeks ago, and stayed in Telluride. Loved it. No manifestos were written, although hiking and eating took place.
