Was she wearing a wig? I thought she had hair at the awards show. I must be thicker than I gave myself credit for.

Mine rarely hit all 3 places at once. I'd have pain on the outside of the thigh sometimes, sometimes a stabbing pain in the butt, sometimes an ache along the top of the hip/lower back. Sometimes combinations of two of them. I'd wake up and it hurt to get out of bed and the first few steps really hurt, but it would loosen up. Then after sitting a while (my job is pretty much 100% desk work) it would tighten up again so standing and walking would hurt at first. Cycling would hurt for a couple miles then feel fine, but the next morning I'd be really stiff.

Like I say, it seemed to resolve itself with a low-Q crank and hasn't recurred.

Yes, and in DFW (probably more so than Austin), those drops are usually accompanied by a high dampness level which I find even worse. I hate cold, wet weather, but I do enjoy a good snowfall every 5 years or so.

As long as the grid does not fail. We are still fixing problems that were caused by that.

I was planning to meet up with the guy who is selling the gravel bike today and do some dirt climbing but he bailed. OK with me because I didn't really feel like driving across the valley and climbing hills for 3+hours. Instead I will probably climb hills near home for 3+hours. I have to go out and look at my bikes to decide what to do.

I may get a look at the gravel bike this weekend. So far I've only seen pictures and he hasn't said how much he wants for it.

I think Will reacted that excessively because he (and only he) knows how much grief and angst Jada probably went through in dealing with her ailment. We all know how seriously women take their appearance, particularly their hair, so that's a tinderbox issue for anyone outside the family . . . do not talk about the hair.

Apparently Will felt Chris was aware of the hair ailment and was being mean and insensitive in joking about it. Nobody but Chris himself knows the answer to that.

Regardless, Will overreacted and went way too far in resorting to violence. He also blew it by not apologizing to Chris while onstage accepting his award. Apologizing the next day is not nearly as good. Not good.

Kareem's response was the best I saw.

BillyD 03-30-22 11:06 AM

Oh I gotta find that.

Jabbar abso-frikken-loutely nailed it, and it mirrors my thoughts from the moment I realized the incident wasn’t scripted.

This showed up in my Facebook memories. I was eating breakfast and noticed him on a pole across the street next to a community garden with lots of birds.

Good ride. We got hit with some sleet at the very end. Still 100% fun!

It does not feel muscle related, and I am still thinking it’s kidneys maybe, but my doctor did rule that out for now. I think I don’t drink enough water especially when I am home for the amount that I excercise and maybe that is what is causing the discomfort. Im trying to drink more water at work too. The flair up isn’t worse than before but it’s not better.
The pain is about 3 inches above my right butt cheek and then wraps around to my side. Lasted about 5 days last time if it last longer than I will go back to the doctor.

Torn labrum- ask me how I know

Unless 3 inches is much higher than I think

A Cooper’s hawk, known for raiding bird feeders, and not for the seeds either.

I just ordered my third pair of a(my backspace key suddenly stopped working)ParkTools needle nose pliers. The first was (borrowed and not returned) the second disappeared into thin air. I still exopect to stumble actross thenma at some point. Backspace issues. Or rather non-backspace issues.

seedsbelize2 03-30-22 12:16 PM

seedsbelize2 03-30-22 12:18 PM

I have a pocketknife I really like. It's nice and simple, easy to open keeps a nice edge, unobtrusive. Then I lost it. I looked everywhere. Finally I gave up and ordered another of the same model. Shortly after it arrived, the old one showed up. The universe is weird.

There are a couple of 2 story+ pine trees in the garden. Total bird magnets. Sometimes they make so much damn noise in the morning I have to shut my bedroom window. One afternoon I saw some sort of raptor swoop in for the kill. Not sure if it was successful, but it created quite a stir.

Another time I went out onto my back deck. There were pigeon feathers everywhere below one edge of my roof. Like a pigeon had flown into a giant fan. I had been seeing red tails fly over the house recently. My guess is that one had a fest while perched on the edge of my roof.

Maybe once/month I will see one perched on the top of he main branch of the Free Library during my walk home. There is park area right near there where there can be a lot of trash, especially after groups pass out free meals around 4 p.m. That attracts rodents. Probably good hunting grounds.

I took the mtb on a road loop. I cross this dam that has a wide road on top of it. Lots of runners and walkers and a few bikes. Still hazy as the fog burns off.
https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c827b1e8c8.jpg
I usually drop down to that road to get to the hills when I have the road bike but today I went cross country.
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...9a9a1fd7ad.jpg
I'm going to cut through those trees. Once among them it's hard to figure out which way to go. There is a water crossing I pedaled through and only one foot got a little wet.

My wife is currently dealing with alopecia right now and has been for about 6 weeks and it is very upsetting to her. Her dermatologist thinks it's going to be ok. She had several injections (steroids?) in her scalp a couple weeks ago. It's a large spot but her hair dresser has done a great job covering it up but is still readily visible if her hair gets mussed or wind blown.

big john 03-30-22 03:07 PM

Eventually I made it into the canyon where I used to live. Lots of unusual houses there.
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d53058a4e7.jpg
A friend lived in this house when I was a ute. It's huge, much bigger than it looks and it's 2 stories.

There is a park with lots of oak trees. I like to stop there during rides and it's usually very quiet.
