76 Miles. temp swing from 49F start to 78F end. Mosquitoes were waiting with baited breath at any given stop. Damn those flying redcross workers!

Jughed 06-12-24 04:54 PM

28 miles on the MUP - easy pace.

Sierra_rider 06-12-24 09:59 PM

Not a ton of motivation today, but I did manage to get 12 miles and 1500' around my neighborhood today. Which is actually the perfect amount for the week, as I'm planning a hard ride with a friend on Friday...so I don't want the stress score to get too high too early. He can drop me on a lot of climbs, so I gotta be somewhat fresh for that ride.
I also managed to get a weight lifting session in this evening, so I feel like today was somewhat productive.

An annoying 35 miles with the BB.

Sierra_rider 06-13-24 02:49 PM

My regular summer easy loop, 43 miles and 4100' climbing.

Bafanguy 06-14-24 07:41 AM

22 miles

WaveyGravey 06-14-24 09:49 AM

Today I rode 26 miles.

Troul 06-14-24 12:55 PM

40 miles... waiting on the new BB to arrive. Going to keep on letting it make its noise... unless it starts getting louder/starts grinding.

Sierra_rider 06-14-24 08:18 PM

102 miles with 12,600' of elevation gain...my friend was struggling hard on the last 1/2 of the ride, so the average speed dropped down to 13.3mph. He's a fast junior racer kid, he normally beats me up pretty well on climbs on shorter routes. Today was my chance for payback...I've gotten fairly competent at these long, climbing routes, so I was able to drop him on the climbs for a change. I was a nice guy though and would hang back and pace him on the flatter sections. The final mileage/elevation ratio doesn't tell the whole story...at one point the mileage was 65 with a tick over 10,000 gain.

25 miles. It was supposed to running intervals night, but I finally had my new tire and new wheels set up on the drop bar bike today, so I was more interested in getting out on the bike. Still did at least a half dozen one-mile intervals, so I guess it was intervals night.

This morning, I rode 33 miles.

First miles this week, work is killing me lately. 21 miles in oppressive heat and humidity with a strong hot wind. It was miserable. Now I get to do some more work.....:crash:

Troul 06-15-24 05:31 PM

100.9 miles. not looking forward to the high humidity next week, but i just cant let a new part go unused!

WaveyGravey 06-16-24 09:21 AM

33 miles this morning.

Sierra_rider 06-16-24 04:22 PM

An easy loop to round out a big week, 38 miles and 3500' of gain this morning. Weekly totals were about 280 miles, 33K' elevation gain, and almost 20 rolling hours...I gotta go back to work, so this next week will be considerably lighter.

He's a good kid, so I felt a little bad when he was starting to suffer...but sometimes these kids need to be humbled a bit. He's enjoyed some breakthrough successes this season, so he's riding a pretty big wave of confidence. IMO, brutal/painful days like these, keep an athlete "hungry" and wanting to improve upon weaknesses...or at least that's how it works for me, and he's got a similar mindset. If I'm honest with myself, my physiological prime is behind me and any further improvements for me will only come through better training...so it's cool to be able to train with someone that has a bunch of potential.

We're going to reach over 100F today, so headed out early for nice 25 mile gravel/road mix. Now not sure what to do with the rest of the day, perhaps start my winter build early.

Troul 06-19-24 11:49 AM

57 miles of no more annoying BB noise.

wheelreason 06-19-24 02:33 PM

Not today, Sunday, 84 from Baltimore to York and back mostly dirt and gravel on the rail trail, wife's hybrid wheels got a workout. Slick 28s would have worked, but there were some crunchy sections, but not many, lots of shade thankfully.

WaveyGravey 06-20-24 04:02 PM

Today 24 miles.

rsbob 06-20-24 10:57 PM

A pretty flat 18.8 with my first overall KOM on a half mile sprint averaging 30 MPH. Big fish, small pond type stuff. In Seattle I would be lucky to get a top 100.

Jughed 06-21-24 08:56 AM

42 miles in the Alps today.

1.5 times up Alpe d’Huez. My son rode 1/2 way up… took him down to mom at the bottom and went back up.
