Anyone use an electric air pump in the garage?
 

Was wondering if anyone uses an electric air compressor for their bike tires. I have a good floor pump, but it doesn't work great on my motorcycle so I was thinking of getting a small air compressor for the garage. I like that the compressors can be programmed to a specific psi which would be nice for the bike. Would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks.

I use an air compressor for all kinds of stuff, except bike tires. The hand pump is just too convenient.

Got a portable electric pump off amazon. its great, lcd display allows u to set whatever pressure u want and fills up to it. only weighs 336 grams.

I have a 240 volt air compressor I use for stuff, including filling a portable air tank that I use to fill car and bike tires.

I would get a 6gallon porter-cable compressor (on-sale at HD for $99 right now). Then buy the air hose and tire pressure gauge at Amazon. You are looking at maybe $150ish in total expense. You can use the compressor for DIY around the house and so much more.

I have one but I basically bought it to air dry my bike when I clean it :thumb:. I use it for other stuff around the house once in awhile and to inflate car tires as well. However, I still use a pump for my bikes. :foo:

I use a 4.5 Husky twin-tank “silent air” compressor, yeah, and it’s sweet with a retractable hose reel and a Park Tool INF2 head unit. Unfortunately, the INF2 is $135, but really, it’s so much better than any other inflator head I’ve used, I consider it virtually indispensible (for presta).

Compressor in the garage. So much easier than a floor pump.

Yeah, 15 CFM, maybe a little overkill for bike tires.

Compressor in the garage for car tires and bike tires.

Since riding my bikes is just about my only exercise, using the floor pump to inflate their tires is just about my only upper body exercise. So the compressor is only for inflating car tires and blow drying or dusting things.

Compressor for cars and motorcycles, floor pump for bicycles. Its just too fast and easy to use the floor pump for bicycles. I don't leave the compressor running all the time, so my bicycle tires are filled long before the compressor is ready. Now, if I had to use the floor pump for my motorcycle or car, I would probably pass out before I was done.

I have a Husky compressor that Ive used almost exclusively in the garage. I do worry about moisture in the tubes/tires from the condensation inside the tank, but its never been a verified problem (unless the moisture in my tubeless tires prevents the sealant from reacting the way it should). I had the compressor from a home renovation and just naturally used it for my bike tires.

I'm seeing more people using the Ryobi battery-powered inflators lately. Seems like a reasonable option if you already have other Ryobi tools that use the same battery system.

The inflator by itself w/o a battery and charger on Amazon makes it seem like a pretty good deal.
