CCRT season opener ride, pretty sure it's #12

With the coming of mud season and the first robins, it's time to post the CCRT spring ride!
Patriot's Day weekend, either 4/13 or 4/14, depending on what works for the most people.
Dennis trailhead of the Cape Cod Rail Trail , the old exit 9A off Rt 6. 10 AM.
C&V themed, but all are welcome.
Hope to see some new faces along with the usual suspects.

Hello Top! And everyone else. I've been absent from BF for a while. We haven't been able to do much riding lately so this ride might be a challenge if we do it too fast:speedy:.

However we do plan to be there with the tandem :tandem:. I believe Sharon told me either Saturday or Sunday works.

My spouse and I went with yooze once. We had a lot of rain, but despite that, we had a lot of fun. It's highly unlikely I can make it this year, but I'll be thinking of you.

Unfortunately, Rhonda and I will miss the spring CCRT ride this year. We are heading down to Texas to visit family and get some early season miles in. You guys have fun! We hope to see you in the fall if not sooner. We need more than two C&V gatherings in New England per cycling season!

Hi All!

The Spring and Fall CCRT rides are the highlight of my riding season, so count me in.
Either day should be okay for me, unless it's cold n rainy - in which case I will baby out Waaaahhh.

Hmm, might work for me this go round. I'd ride from Boston the previous day, stay overnight in Dennis, join the crew for some CCRT and then ride to P-town to catch the 3 pm ferry back to Boston. So will it be on 4/13 or 4/14?

As things stand right now I'm penciling in Sunday 14 April. Weather looks better. @nlerner, make sure you can carry that beer I owe you.....

I'm planning to be there!

Edit: Eh, spoke too soon. The P-Town ferry doesn't start running until May 16! I'll just have to try again in the fall.

I'm passing on the spring ride. Wife had another totally out of the blue ailment (with another total recovery expected) befall her. Fingers crossed for next fall.

Family first.
We'll miss you.

Top,
I have to cancel for tomorrows’s ride. Something came up that I can’t avoid…
The weather forecast looks great - hope you all have a safe ride 😎 I had been looking forward to it.

Alas, like ADGuy we must bow out also. It's not a good day for us. Bummer.

top506 04-15-24 05:31 AM

Well, it happened anyway. No Jim and Sharon, so no pics.
Sorry you all had to bail, Gany and I had a GREAT ride.

Great to see you had a good ride. Sorry we couldn't make it or bring cookies. My real worry was that you and anyone else would wait around instead of having seen the posting that we couldn't make it. These days there is just too much getting in the way of doing anything. In the meantime we are working to get back into bike shape and hope to make the autumn ride.

top506 04-16-24 03:45 PM

Just as well. Gany and I beat the rain and were back in the car by 2:30. The usual suspects would have still been chatting at Nickerson when the heavens opened.

I'm a bit late to this CCRT game! I'm out of shape as well but planning to be there in the fall with my camera!! I've been forced off a vintage bike and now I'm on a modern flat bar gravel grinder with easier shifting. Those down tube shifters were starting to get to me. Top, thanks for keeping this tradition alive!

Cheers,
