That means nothing in Seattle. Being originally from NYC, I have remarked that June is SUMMER. I've learned that is not the case in Seattle. Mid-July is more like it. But even so, we have been running 10-15 degrees below normal even for May.

as long as I dont see any of the flaky four letter word flying from above, it'll ride it out until mother nature stops PMSing.

Come on down to central Florida, it’s 90 today, supposed to be 93 tomorrow and 96 on Thursday! Just got back from taking the wife on her daily 10 mile loop through the woods, it was hot even in the shade! No breeze at all. I’m getting up at 5am tomorrow morning to do 50 miles on the road before it gets too hot. Just hope it’s not too foggy, dew point is up around 73!

Dreadful. Absolutely dreadful. We did hit 108F last year, in June actually, and it was coupled by terrible air quality.

But my little story. When my parents purchased a condo in Ft Lauderdale, I quipped that if I were to inherit property, I would prefer a condo in Colorado. Mother was not amused!

the older i get, the more I am attracted to heat it seems. Dry heat though.

I am now declaring myself recovered from acute prostatitis. Yesterday and today, I did 50 mile rides, first of 2022. I am now at 380 for the month of May, only had 600 ytd on the 1st of May. Recurring UTI blew up into prostatitis, then tweaked my back that kept me mostly inactive for another 2 weeks. I am not keeping accurate count on things this year, but I do have pretty good running total in my head. I do not know the specifics, but I know I have had more days off the bike, than on. Tomorrow is likely a day off, R&R and chores to do.

Charlie Ky 05-17-22 06:51 PM

6.6 mi on my new bike. Wind was kind of brutal. Not a long ride but hey, I'm a noob. And hooked too.

I'm off work every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Gonna shoot for 10 mi minimum those days, weather permitting.

KJ43 05-17-22 09:57 PM

41 miles, 4,000 feet of elevation. Big road climb and some dirt up on top of, and over, Black Mountain. Lot's of people out including a member of the forums that I never met irl out on Stevens Canyon Road in Cupertino.

Afternoon Ride

rsbob 05-17-22 10:16 PM

Did my standard mileage today, more than 1 and less than 100, but with 2300’ climbing.

50 miles in….70-90+ degrees. It hasn’t been 50 down here in months!

Right now at 5pm it’s 93 but the “feels like” temp is 103!

Skipped the ride in the woods today, wife rode her Peloton instead, in air conditioned splendor!

My taxes don't match up tho.

Kai Winters 05-18-22 04:13 PM

47 miles.
Great ride, a bit cloudy, chilly...60f...and breezy but a great ride none the less.
Lake Ontario area of Northern NY.

I love the cold and winter months...just wish they didn't last so long up here...I can always add a layer...I hate hot temps...can only take off so much clothing before "John Law" comes a knockin' lol.
Thank the digital gods for Zwift during the winter months.

Adhdsloth 05-18-22 04:33 PM

Started riding to work and back. Lucky for me it’s only about a 5 mile round trip.
