Today...

-I saw and yelled "hi" to Johan Bruyneel as he walked out of his office to his RadioShack Nissan
-I rode past two Omega Pharma-Lotto riders on an easy day, they waved
-I rode with Liz Hatch and an AnPost-Sean Kelly rider up the Muur
-I saw Robbie McEwen and was too flabbergasted to say anything. (My teammates saw him motorpacing down the canal yesterday)
-I saw a Columbia HTC VW wagon (maybe it was an Audi?)
-I rode past a giant monument made out of hundreds of bikes
-I rode up the Muur and the Koppenberg
-I briefly rode with a rider who races for the QuickStep feeder team
-Ate dinner with my roommate, who found out yesterday that she's racing the Womens Tour of Flanders.

What happened to you today that is cycling related?

Where are the pics of these two people?

I learned how to say "I said" in Russian.

Yaniel 03-03-10 02:32 PM

who cares?

Just messing. I'm insanely jealous! What happened to me today cycling related? I looked at my bike as I walked past it.

jsharr 03-03-10 02:35 PM

I learned about the Hitachi Magic Wand, roller derby and naiveté.

dstrong 03-03-10 02:36 PM

I saw a guy riding his Cervelo across town on 35th street, motorpaced by a city bus...only the bus didn't know it.

I've heard that it's rude to take pictures of womens butts, and it was a little preoccupied with the Muur (which, by the way, is not very hard to climb. As I was descending, there was some 60 y/o guy climbing, as you can see in the picture)

I didn't get a pic of McEwen because we were riding opposite directions. Eh, I'll probably see him tomorrow, too. Canal ride.

RazorWind 03-03-10 02:42 PM

Pics of you with Liz Hatch or it didn't happen. :D

thump55 03-03-10 02:51 PM

Today, I built a monument using hundreds of bikes, and some guy comes along and won't even let me be in the picture he took of my work.

What a fartknocker :)

calamarichris 03-03-10 02:56 PM

Today I learned that collection agencies are after my ex-wife.

I just saw that monument was in Pez Cycling News. I'm pretty sure it's new, I didn't even notice it when I rode past it earlier today, or any previous day for that matter.
where I was standing to take that picture was the exact same spot I was talking with a Team BMC soigneur on Sunday, and watching all of the team cars drive by for KBK...

The closest cycling related thing that happened to me today, is that Right To Play is still a client of the company I work for, and I rode my '86 Raleigh Marathon to work. What else? I ordered a new dropout for my OCR. I really think that's about it.

You're a lucky bastard CK...

AngryScientist 03-03-10 03:03 PM

thats great crimson, you're living the dream out there. a lifestyle is truly something short vacations can never imitate, i envy you.

MDcatV 03-03-10 03:04 PM

cool! are you in the johan cycling academy over there? one of my team mates left from US to Bel on monday

WCroadie 03-03-10 03:13 PM

Today I:

- Got up at 4:45 to head to the gym to take a spin class for 1:15
- Went to work
- Learned that I need a new roof on my house ASAP
- Read a post about a kid who went to belgium and is experiencing all sorts of things I never will, doh!

Nice CK, enjoy your time over there and make the most of it. Check in often to keep us posted. Best of luck to you!

tuxbailey 03-03-10 03:22 PM

I visited BF today.

That is, if that counts as cycling related.

PS. Insanely Jealous of your cycling encounters today.

Voodoo76 03-03-10 03:25 PM

Looked out my office window, sun is out and 65F, looks like a nice day for a ride, posted this on tBF, back to work.

+1 or rather +2 in her case :)

cod.peace 03-03-10 03:45 PM

I learned all about the trauma triad of death today (by reading, not by personal experience). Which, I suppose, has some relevance to cycling if you manage to accidentally amputate your leg with your chainring.

waterrockets 03-03-10 03:49 PM

Living the dream (or getting there). Thanks for sharing. Cool cool stuff.

This morning I got on my trainer at 5am because I'm still not allowed to ride on the road according to my Dr.

mediamst 03-03-10 03:55 PM

1- I decided to buy the Fuji Cross pro I looked and and tried out last night. Placed it on hold at the store.
2- Picked out the heart rate/cycle computer I want
3- Am leaving work to go pick up the rig in a few minutes.
4- Plan to ride tonight. Finally warm enough in Illinois for a ride. 40 degrees! Yay!

baj32161 03-03-10 03:57 PM

I got to hate you:D

It's not the temp as much as the daylight that is the issue around here.

Me...I got to get sick with the newest virus to hit the psimet house, recover from 2 hrs of trainer time at SST and prepare for 1.75 hours of slightly higher SST tonight. Build some wheels, prep some frames for building, etc.
Oh...and pick up my son and watch him while I am doing all of this.

Next time you stare at Liz remember that can result in having to live a life like mine.....just sayin.... ;)

RacerOne 03-03-10 04:25 PM

I washed and waxed my bike. Your day was better.
