Hi, new to the forum. I agree with what you say about the gearing. I see your post is from a while ago... have you since managed to successfully fit a bigger chainring?

Any thoughts out there on the new Sirrus 6 with the strange frame?

2019 Sirrus X Carbon changes to date:
- saddle/seatpost (Specialized)
- brakes (XT 8100 flat-mount)
- crankset (Shimano GRX 810)
- tires (Roubaix Pro 32)
- pedals (Shimano XT)
- grips (Ergon)
- FS (2.0, warranty replacement for stock 1.0)
Still to do: drivetrain (undecided, but 'XT' level) and wheels (depends on drivetrain)

anyone have a suggestion on a rear rack for my 2015 Specialized Sirrus Elite Carbon Disc? I need to carry a 13"laptop and some books and keep them dry. Currently using backpack on commute. Might look into fenders as well

Not seeing traditional mounts for a typical rear rack, but perhaps one that mounts to the seat post?

Joined the Specialized Sirrus X 3.0 (2022) fam yesterday.

Couple of observations from the ride home from the bike shop:

- Really light bike compared to my other hybrid bikes (Giant Roam and Escape)
- Found myself 'running out of gears' on the flats/downhill. A slightly bigger front chain ring would be ideal IMO
- Brakes are a bit underwhelming (Tektro HD-280)
- Aesthetically, it's a really good looking bike. Good paint scheme and the reflective paint around the logo really makes the bike pop.

I planned to head out for a bit of a ride today, but spent almost the entire day trying to get my department-store bought saddle just right :o.

My Sirrus X 3.0. I've had it about one month now. First pic is from 10\3. Second is from 10\14 when I installed a rear rack(3rd bike it's been on-at least 40 years old now)

286 recorded miles as of yesterday. Yesterday's ride 23.6 miles

Looks like that front is 40 and the back is the 11/42 which gets you at 27mph at 90 RPM. That is flying sitting upright for me. But not bad for a bike under $1k.

Hey Cornchips I thought I would mention my saddle on my Sirrus. Love It! I know finding the right saddle isn't easy but this time it found me. The saddle that came installed on my X3.0 is called the Bridge Sport.
I like it so much I ordered another this morning(145mm) for a Specialized Alibi I picked up over the weekend. Dang thing came with a Cloud 9 seat. Yikes!

That's actually one of the bug-bears for me from this bike. I haven't quite got the bike 'dialed in' yet, mainly due to the seat. Mine also came with a Bridge Sport, but unfortunately it didn't really agree with me. I'm right on the overlap between an XXL and XL frame, and here in Aus, they don't seem to sell the XXL version. I've been thinking on investing in a 30mm setback seat-post to see if that alleviates the issue, as I'd like to push the seat just a little further back on the current set-up, although I do notice the stock seat-post has a 12mm setback, so not sure how much difference 18mm will make. Anyway, point is I've been having trouble getting the seat adjustment just right.

This bike actually retailed for over $1000 here in Australia ($1150), but I got it on sale for $829. The gearing is fine for 90% (maybe more) of the riding I do. Maybe it's not a speed thing, but a feel thing. I feel a slightly bigger ring - maybe 42T - would be on point.

I'm looking at picking up at Sirrus 3.0 or a Giant Fastroad AR1. Anyone have any insight on the latest Sirrus model? I have a choice between black and 'morning mist.' I like both equally and have trouble deciding.

I ain't into black bikes so that's an easy choice ... for me :)
And you'll be slightly more visible on a light coloured bike.

I dislike both crankset options, or maybe they're not for me.
Giant 42T too high, Sirrus 30-46, 46 waaay too high of a gear for a fitness bike, imo

I run a 36T with a 9 speed cassette, enough for me in a (relatively) flat city.
Also 38 / 40T is ok for someone with lower cadence.
It depends whether you climb or not.

Reminds of a Diverge EVO without the FS.

Here is my 21' Sirrus 6.0 in street attire and the second photo is in it's X- mode with 42mm tires. I'm a huge fan of the Future Shock and had a Diverge Evo, as well as a reg. carbon Diverge. Sold them both in favor of keeping the Sirrus. Next stop will be a custom build X 5.0.

I'm very late to the game, but just recently picked up a 2021 Sirrus X 5.0. At 6'1" with a 34" inseam I was between sizes. The XL with its 849mm standover comes within 1 cm of my crotch, while the L with its 483mm seat tube length requires a good 10" of exposed seatpost. While I prefer the reach and stack of the XL, those can always be adjusted with stem and handlebar choice while that standover will always be tight. So I went with a Large, but I'm wondering how other folks dealt with fit on the Sirrus X models.

Help please, want to upgrade my 2022 X 4.0 stock wheels to tubeless, what are all of the wheel specs I need to consider? Thinking of Hunt 4 Seasons Gravel or DT Swiss G

You need to figure out if you have quick release (QR) or a thru-axle and then what the spacing is say QRx135 or 12x100 or something like that. Once you have that you can then get the right wheels. You might take it to your local shop so they can confirm everything and help you find the right wheels but you might be able to convert the current wheels if you are wanting tubeless.

What veganbikes says above. If that's your bike you have a thru-axle frame/fork; you need a now pretty standard 12x100 front, 12x142 rear. Your stock hubs' disc mount is centre-lock, so that's another spec. to consider. Your SRAM drivetrain will be fine with a standard Shimano free hub (11 'speed').
