This stupid virus is going to make me do something I hate

I hate riding in long pants. So I go to the Gym that my health ins pays for when it gets cold. But now with this rotten virus, I really dont want to go there. So after lunch today I am going to go and get some long pants to wear to ride now that it is getting cold.

A vaccine cant come too soon!!!!!

trailangel 10-28-20 09:50 AM

The virus made me buy a new bike.

Notso_fastLane 10-28-20 09:52 AM

In NE? You might want to get a velomobile. ;)

Pop N Wood 10-28-20 09:54 AM

Walmart fruit of the loom sweatpants. $7.44. I ride down to 35 degrees in those.

It's making you do this? Are you sure?

If the virus made you jump off a cliff, would you do it?

GlennR 10-28-20 09:57 AM

This stupid virus made me miss the funeral of both of my best friend's parents. They died within 3 days of each other due to this stupid virus.

OP... I feel your pain.

If the vaccine doesn't kill you, please keep us updated with any side effects.

situps, jumping jacks, push ups, calf raises, plank, lunges, repeat.
you can do this in a 10x10' space in the comfort of your warm home. you will get a more complete workout than laying down on a chair and meandering around town on a 'bent would give you.

...or figure out how to set up your 'bent to Zwift and ride virtually inside.

Im glad I could help resolve your crisis.

Thanks for the tip. That was where I was going to go. I will look for them.

You got off easy. It made me buy four new bikes.

It made me work from home. Now instead of spending quality time commuting 3 hours a day I suffer riding my bikes twice as much as before.

You're on a bent?
The bent's the easiest thing to ride on an indoor turbo trainer. I put my Optima Baron onto one, prop a laptop in front of me with headphones on my ears, and just sit back, pedal, and catch up some on some TV that I missed over the summer.

Heck, you could easily find one on FB/CL for less than 50. Get a smart speed sensor for your GPS to track milage and you're all set.

If wearing long pants is the biggest inconvenience you have, consider yourself very, very, fortunate.

never heard of insurance paying for gym membership

It breaks my heart to hear how the virus has impacted fellow BF posters ....

(Yeah, maybe, for some people, this is a distasteful topic .... too soon for humor ... but those are some amusing posts.)

Mr. Rydabent .... can your bike be fit on a fluid trainer?

And maybe a training program where everyone goes slowly and there are no hills? :) Maybe ... NotZoZwift?

BikeLite 10-28-20 12:46 PM

The virus made me vote for....

You often extoll the superiority of recumbents in your posts. Let me return the favor...you can ride a real bike indoors on a trainer...no need for long pants.

And I went there and got a couple pair. Yup $7.44, but they didnt have some over paid twit designers name on them If they had, they would have been $37.44 and made out of the same material.

my wife got a gym discount paid for by her ins co. i was surprised too but their reasoning is if you are healthy then you are a lower risk.

shelbyfv 10-28-20 01:22 PM

I've just read that Covid can cause chronic cognitive deficits equivalent to the brain aging 10 years. I'm in my seventies, I can't afford to lose 10 years of brain power. Wear your mask, please or you may have to read BF posts made by someone with an 80+ year old brain!:twitchy:

That is political nonsense!!!! Uncalled for and a scare tactic.

rsbob 10-28-20 01:31 PM

It made me jump off a cliff....and buy a new bike for MrsRSbob AND myself. Not to mention new pedals, shoes, kit, etc. Damn expensive virus.

I get it with my Aetna medicare Advantage plan that I got for working 47 years for the same company as a medical retirement program.
