I love eating cakes, brownies and similar goodies along my ride.
can we start a thread listing folks' favorites?

(side note : east bay and south bay, i can review some of them :) )

Two legendary ones in Marin are the Bovine Bakery in Pt. Reyes Station and the Tomales Bakery in (wait for it) Tomales. Both right on Hwy 1. Both popular with cyclists and humans of other stripes and persuasions.

As an East Bay boy, I haven't been in either in a long time, so I suppose they may have changed (I doubt it), but I have very fond memories of both. More than enough calories to be had at either pace to revive sagging morale and fuel the next set of climbs. :)

Chromatic Coffee in San Jose is great to visit. They carry Sweet Dragon pies/galettes. Hapa's Brewing Company and Good Karma Bikes are a part of the same lot.

Bear Claw Bakery - Pinole

GPC Club regular detour when riding the 3 Bears in the East Bay.

EDIT - There's no seating or coffee/drinks at As Kneaded, but there's a convenience store and a Loard's Ice Cream parlor next door(s), plus it's on Victoria Park, a nice grassy area to collapse onto. ;-)

We stop at the Feel Good bakery on Encinal when we go through Alameda. Great pour over coffee also.

Two favorites on Highway 1, north of Tomales:

The bakery at Stewarts Point store has good variety, just get there early before the Tesla parade cleans them out.
Cafe Aquatica in Jenner is an essential stop, for coffee, baked goods, and breakfast eggs. Right on the water.

One house bakery in Bencia make the best sandwiches

I've stopped at Bovine Bakery at least a half dozen times. The last two were on credit card tours, my wife made me bring her back one of their one pound peanut butter blondies. Zip lock bag so they wouldn't go stale, but mostly so I wouldn't go crazy smelling them for several days. Week old blondies, still good eatin'

With long lines often literally a block and a half or two long, it's not exactly convenient, but the smell of croissants from Arsicault Bakery on San Francisco biking thoroughfare Arguello (at Clement) sure is intoxicating. https://arsicault-bakery.com/home

And, too good not to share, my favorite local Randonneurs Henry Wildeberry and Ms. Cools visit both Two Fish Bakery at Stewarts Point Store and Cafe Aquatica, on their recent ride. Come for the pastries, but stay for the groovy riding on Highway One.

Another favorite cycling stop is soon to close, sadly. The Jimtown Store just outside Healdsburg will shutter at the end of the year. They've been friendly to bicyclists since olden times, with comforting shade, water along the side, and tasty treats all day long. Alas, despite surviving recent wildfires, the fires nonetheless took their toll. Business has dropped off, and the region's shortage of affordable housing has made keeping the store staffed a constant challenge. Maybe a couple of cycling partners could pool resources and take it on?

I think your link is old, the Jimtown store closed at the end of 2019. I made it up that way one time, their chilli was legendary. I got dropped on the way up and on the way back. Pine Flat is the most inappropriately named road in California. And it does have a lot of pine trees.

Model Bakery in St Helena (and Napa, and their caboose in Yountville) do good coffee, very good pastries, and their English muffins are worth buying a half doz to take home. Gotta get there early to get the muffins, is the only thing.

At the south end of Napa, Stanly Lane Market have some nice homemade cookies, and also a great bbq.

Oh man, didn't realize the Jimtown store had closed, what a bummer. Stopped there many times when I was in high school on longer rides with my parents and the food was always great.

I will also vouch for the Stewarts Point store. Granted, I've never ridden a bicycle there, but I stop there often on my motorcycle when I do a loop through Skaggs Springs down to Highway 1. They make a delicious London Fog tea and their food has always been great. View from the deck is great too, long as it isn't foggy.
