The UCI has updated the rules for aerobars:
"...….the UCI also further refined the rules for time trial bikes, specifying the arm extensions for road time trial and track pursuit bikes must be in two parts, and there can only be elbow rests if there are also extensions. The rest can be only 12.5cm wide or long, and can only incline 15 degrees. There can only be a 10cm rise or drop between the elbow rest and the end of the extensions." Source: UCI adds sock height, aero fabric regulations to 2019 rulebook | Cyclingnews.com What does "two parts" mean? My aerobars contain eight parts excluding screws and bar tape (if they mean two assemblies then mine comply). |

I think they’re referring to the bars that connect at the handhold end, and bars like a set of Dedas that I used to have that had a single mount and came out and separated to 2 handholds [img]blob:https://www.bikeforums.net/7bc79fed-...1-1beea914a9ec |

It's important to focus here, I'm not arguing tariffs are or are not going to create X issue in the bicycle industry at X time. I'm arguing that tariffs had such a minuscule impact on the financial health of ASE as to be immaterial in the face of their other issues, if they had any impact at all. I suspect they had no impact but that's a stretch without seeing the numbers.
It's Chapter 11 now or Chapter 7 later. |
I see that Ashton Lambie has signed for the Huub Wattbike test team and will be riding with the rest of the team in Berlin. |
Spotted on GCN today -- they ID'ed these as Glaetzer's handlebars, but didn't have measurements. Anyone seen/heard anything about these?

My first guess would be BT, but there is an Australian firm that has been doing some custom components for them for the last little while. I don't recall the name, but someone on here mentioned the company. They were the ones who were making the horizontally scalloped seatposts for the national team riders.

You're right, so maybe the other company I still can't recall the name of. I think it might have been pierrej that had the info on the posts. Maybe he has some insider info about the bars?
Also here's the custom "Thomson" also made locally https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...2f8f33a7e7.jpg |
pierrej, you are awesome!

Unfortunately I've got very little info about the new argon as it's all very hush hush at the moment, but it should be very very fast, especially at the Olympics. Here's the image with the sources of everything, both design and manufacture for the older bikes Here's the link to the webpage http://www.askil.com.au/Products.html |

I found this quote at https://www.endurancebusiness.com/20...ashton-lambie/
A team spokesperson added, “We’re breaking the mould and doing it our own way. Our chain rings are made by a guy with arthritis in his shed, yet they are the best in the world.” Is there any info on these chain rings? |

That’s stupid SRM PowerMeter SRM Origin Track They offer: - 170.0mm - 172.5mm - 175.0mm http://www.srm.de/fileadmin/_process...ab7e1f79eb.jpg When the most common crank lengths for trackies are: - 165.0mm - 167.5mm - 170.0mm I mean, did they even ask anyone who rides a track bike? |
What's silly is that this is modeled after the LOOK ZED crank in coordination with LOOK (I believe).
LOOK knows what's up. They offer two options when you buy a R96: The ZED TRACK crank is available in two sizes and the length of the crank arms are adjustable thanks to a tri-lobed nut. Size 1: 165mm / 167.5mm / 170 mm Size 2: 172.5mm / 175mm / 177.5 mm |
SRM is just putting it's road arms on the track PM.

Interesting interview, they weren’t that happy about Berlin but 4th in a World Cup isn’t that bad, https://www.velouk.net/2018/12/05/fe...ts-to-aim-for/ |

Training App Comparison Matrix
In case anyone is interested, as you hunker down and enter your indoor training period, I did some research on the myriad of training apps out there and created a comparison matrix. This is a work in progress and I add new apps based on feedback.

Stopped by the local Performance yesterday to check out the Going out of Business Sale. I was surprised to see a Fuji Elite track bike in there. Looked to be slightly used. Price was $2k for the complete bike - with 35 Scattos and DA cranks. It was a 52 frame, so way too small for me.

Thanks! As I have decided to get back into the sport this coming year, this is actually VERY useful for me as I'm looking to get on a training platform to work out with indoors.

I just learned that Kawasaki keirinjo (Urban Bank) has a pretty excellent English language webpage with a very clear schedule of races, something I wish ALL keirin tracks had. Also handy guides in English on how to bet:
