Wife called to tell me the new drivetrain came today. :bday:

Going to have to wait until next week to install. Prolly.

My Kask Monito Cubed chin strap is wonderful. So comfortable. Being made in Italy, you would expect that. It’s just too bad the thing has poor ventilation. It will now be relegated to commuting/around town transportation duty.

Mine is also noisy as Hell.

It'll go pfft. You won't be a cool kid without PTFE.

Need to also look into adding WS2 racerboy.

I'm good with letting them in. I've known many good people who have immigrated from Mexico.

We have an immigrant couple (documented now) that cleans our house and the office who have worked for us for over 10 years. I still can't understand or converse with them very well, and when I talk to them the response is pretty much "Si" to everything I say. I doubt they understand me much as well. ;) Because of that, we usually communicate through their daughter. I've helped their family with several legal issues, mostly small stuff. They always try to pay, but I can't take their money. I doubt they know what my billing rate is or could afford it.

Their daughter got married about a year ago, and shortly after they were at the house working while I was working from home. They were proudly showing me pictures from the wedding, and I asked Santiago if he cried. He just started tearing up and answered, "Si, si." Told him I'll be doing exactly the same thing when mine gets married.

End of immigrant ramble.

Our cleaners were impressed when one day I was able to say "Mi esposa esta afuera a la bicicleta. Por favor no limpie el bano hasta que ella llegue." I'm pretty sure it was butchered to some degree, but the understood.

Mind you, I did have to spend a few minutes dredging that up out of my memory.

FYI, I have never liked this song.

In the car biz we have a lot of Spanish speakers but most at my last job were from El Salvador and there were some from Mexico. I tried to learn as much conversational Spanish as I could but the most fun part was the idioms, or sayings, like when they explain why they use certain words to describe something. Mexicans have some colorful expressions.

My wife thought this would give my bike an automatic transmission. ;)

That first little climb at around mile 4.8 doesn't look like much on paper, but both times I rode it it pissed me off. I think it's because it comes as a chock after the first 4.8 miles. And when you are looking up the road, it does not look as steep as it is.

I think you posted this before. The route covers area I have ridden on but I've never gone to Franklin but I've been as far as stoneboro via US 62.

Did you explain that it wouldn’t even give you a watt?

Joking. Stoked for you.

So the whole point of of me doing this was A. I’m tired of cleaning my drive train and 49 miles later it looks like ****. B. I go through way too much rock and roll Gold. Starting to get expensive. Wax was cheap why would I buy all this other stuff to add to it?

If it rides like **** then maybe I will.

You can do the homebrew method if you want, but I just hit the "Easy" button and get Molten Speed Wax. It's like 20 bucks and should last a couple years. $10/year is a pittance.

She has no idea what a watt is or the concept. There are some things that are just not worth trying to explain. 😜

I did tell her that it is a pure luxury, and wouldn’t make me any faster.

I went home with a Scott Centric Plus. The fit was undeniably the best for my head. It's proven to be excellent for ventilation on hot days, too.

I assumed everyone wore a Sub 6 ?

It could make you faster. You have an extra gear now!

The PTFE will give you more slipperishness or lubricious. You use just a part of the container with each pot of wax, so it goes a long way. You don’t add more until you throw out the wax and make a new batch. $15 a year or every six months if a heavy user does not break the bank, but it does provide a smoother chain line.

The WS2 is a bit of overkill. Don’t skip the PTFE. It’s basically Teflon, and you know how slick that stuff is.

But still same 50/11 gear ratio.

Lol.

When I'm at that client's facility I usually have to wear a hard hat as well. For what they pay me, I'm happy to do so!

I don't make as much as a good meth distributor though.

Just be extra cautious if one of your clients is 'Gus' - accompanied by a 'Mike' - and especially if they direct you to an underground bunker

Well, they don’t let anyone take pictures inside, and there are no windows. Also have to sign a confidentiality agreement and release before entering.
