I don't know his name, but he is always at VSC when something is going on. He has also gotten event directors to present his bicycle the audience at some point in the program. I knew his name before last July, but it is now one of those things laying on the surface of the Giordana velo. I do remember, however, he is a very nice guy. As I recall, it took a couple of years to bedazzle the bike, as he was a VSC do it when I was training on Monday and Wednesdays.

Interesting that they are holding this in May. I would imagine that this early in the season, people wouldn't be in top form.

I understand that riders wanted to attempt records before the dome comes down a week or so later.

It was the hub that made me think it was fake. The hub on the 2nd photo (from the Mavic site) looks like what I'd expect. Mavic is proud of their hubs.

So, I think the first one might still be a replica.
