The screw created a painful neuroma which I can tolerate cycling until this winter when I will have it either removed or burned or whatever. So unfortunately hiking really makes it hurt. I will be ok in a couple of days since it is more of an abrasion type rather than the cyst type. More info than you wanted to know, BUT I DO LOVE HIKING!

Hope you recover in all areas. But, yes, the thumbtack in the bottom of the foot is quite something to deal with.

43 miles. 30 loop to the bar for beers with backpacking buddies. 13 home looping about like a brain-damaged butterfly.

Troul 07-22-22 01:08 PM

110 Miles. Drank more water than I anticipated. No regerts!

SpeedyBlueBiker 07-22-22 09:56 PM

39 miles on a nice PNW Friday afternoon.

No REGERTS?! Is your spellcheck broken? :D🥴

Troul 07-23-22 03:07 AM

33 miles... awaiting in a self service auto wash [ironic?] bay for the pouring rain to kick its speeds down.
If I see lightening, it'll be a shorter ride then initially planned...

Shanghai's blazing hot July continued today, with air temperatures of near 40 degrees again and humidity making it feel well over 50 degrees. Went through over three litres of water on this relatively short ride, which is way more than I usually drink when the temperatures are more reasonable.

No, he was trying to say "no regurgitation" from heat exhaustion!

Troul 07-23-22 11:21 AM

Added 58 more miles.

Berkshires? Or where do you find that kind of elevation back there?

kahn 07-23-22 07:23 PM

23.6 and about 1,100 feet.

Main obstacle today is there seems to be a Pokemon rally along the Seattle Waterfront, over the pedestrian/bike railroad bridge and through Seattle Center. They were all over and staring down into their phones or lining up there phone cameras.

Ah, yes:

"Pokémon GO Fest is the biggest event of the year—join us in Seattle!Seattle, get ready. Pokémon GO Fest is coming to the Emerald City with an event so big it can’t be contained in one park! With two unique event experiences each day—one in Seattle Center and one happening in Seattle—there’s more to explore than ever before!"

35 miles along the Sammamish River Trail between Redmond and Sheridan Beach. A lot of people out today which made it congested at times.

Hey, I bought that jersey in Moab and that great brew pub. Still have it and another.

i live in the Pioneer Valley. There’s some elevation to the east. Monson/ Wales/ etc….I’m actually going to Mt Holyoke this morning which should be a good ride…

Perfect weather other than the usual nasty wind at the end… 65ish, sunny. Did 42.79, 2,070ft. 2:30. Pretty mellow but felt good.

30 mile ice cream run with Mrs. Bob. 85* in my neck of the woods.

Ubie 07-25-22 08:57 AM

Yesterday, 71mi. Did the Ben to Shore 65mi. ride from Philly to Atlantic City. Add in 6mi when we biked to the start. My farthest ride ever by about 9mi, and that was 18 years ago.

It was so, so very hot.

Proud of my spawn for doing the whole thing too, he's 15 and his previous longest ride was 32mi.

Well, well done.

After that epic, I feel somewhat shy about my 15.7 and 800 feet.

The old standby and home by around 9am to beat the 90F anticipated.

Quality, not quantity? If you had a good time and felt it was a good effort, then what the heck.

SpeedyBlueBiker 07-26-22 05:06 PM

I went out along the Sammamish River Trail between Redmond and Sheridan Beach. Total was 35 miles. I finished around 12:30pm and it was 90F which is hot for the greater Seattle area.
