USD$600+ and Up for a Bike Seat

I thought when i bought my $450.00 SMP Seats a few years ago that was insane and now I see seats selling for as much as USD$800.00 Has to be "JUST BECAUSE" I want it as not sure what a 600-800 dollar seat provides..:)

Are you talking about the custom printed saddles? Come on - show us a (sideways ;)) pic with 17 of 'em, still in the box.

My friend the PorscheMogul has some of those $450 Specialized saddles and says they are quite comfy.

I’d really like to try one of those. Not sure I could pull the trigger.

Oh, snap.

Admittedly, he had it slammed too far forward. But still .....

If you're gonna spend that kind of money at least call it a "saddle".

mstateglfr 09-21-21 09:46 PM

Thank you for letting us know you want an incredibly expensive saddle just because.
It has been noted.

By the way, welcome back. I hope this means you recovered from that horrific Raccoon Crash.

Thanks and yes its been just over a year since it happened and all good here. The only thing that lingered on for awhile was the vertigo and it also finally all went away about 6 months or so... Its also now 7 years since my nasty crash on a set of RR Tracks that I escaped without surgery or hip replacement..:) Were good and just hold my breath every time I head out daily on my plastic beater...

I'm gonna go squat on the PinarelloMogul user name and wait to sell to the highest bidder. :innocent:

There is no cushion at all and quite rigid but dont really notice it to much in my small 25-40 miles a day..

My SMP Stratos saddles cost about $250 each. That’s the most I've ever paid, but they're the most comfortable I've ever owned.

mwatt65 09-22-21 02:26 PM

You're right all steel Rolex's at MSRP. By the way I upgraded to Giant Revolt Pro 1 I hope that passes the flex test.. I only got into cycling last year, so give me a chance to catch up.

My amazing timepiece is lightweight compared to that boat anchor.

Just like with bicycles, plastic > steel.

Likely keeps better time.

TiHabanero 09-22-21 06:06 PM

No question a digital quartz keeps better time than an analog watch. The atomic clock ones go one better on time keeping and are hard to beat outside of an atomic clock itself.
