I agree.

Added difficulty: a lot of these bird species are different depending on gender.

Tricky.

 I was equally skeptical. It’s very good, my wife has made it, better than it sounds.

So I shouldn't put you down for a pint of lobster ice cream? It's a thing in Maine.

You should see what they can do with garlic.

UPDATE: I just conducted a careful study. Although, at first glance, the birds look black, and although they walk around on the lawn like the crows do, upon closer inspection, at the right angle, you can see that there's a subtle blue hue on their heads, and a dark brown one to their wings.

Sneaky. #Birding

How about posting a photo to celebrate the day?

Just got back from a gloomy, damp, windy ride. Only got yelled at once: “Get your ass on the path!”

Still beats riding the couch. :thumb:

How about a Red-winged Blackbird showing off for the girls?

For National Bird Day I'm trying to figure out if these smaller black birds are crows or something else (common grackle)?

Birds whose heads, when in the sunlight, have a non-black hue. Green or blueish.

grackles, or starlings

Well yeah, most savory flavors in ice cream aren't shocking anymore. Lobster still throws people for a loop though!

I will stick with Phish Food.

There was a brewery that I used to go to that had Chocolate Donut Stout. Surprisingly good - it really tasted like chocolate donuts. But you had to like stout to appreciate it, and I don't think they ever sold enough.

Up the street we have Iron Hill - these days they have a take-out special with two personal pizzas and a growler full of beer. I am trying to avoid drinking too much beer - unlike some people here, I am not trying to gain weight.

There is an Iron Hill in West Chester, they are the title sponsor for our bike club. Their food is decent. I am not a beer snob but from what I can tell their beer is ok too.

Okay, Heathpack - tonight is going to be a Goldrush night. Simple and, I hope, delicious.

2 oz. bourbon
¾ oz. honey syrup (recipe below)
¾ oz. fresh lemon juice

Pretty much a hot toddy but cold, eh?

As an experiment get some inexpensive foot beds like dr. Schols. See if things change, doesn't have to cure it.. just change it.. Specialized foot beds are expensive , $30.00. Ish. It's great if they work but sucks if they don't. Loosen the front of the shoe, try thin socks or no socks. I can't ride in thick socks. They ball up under my toes.
Are you fighting cleat placement perhaps? The key is figuring out what the cause is, then figure out the cure.

I'll buckle and try that some time - looks good.

In looking up Phish Food, I see that they also make Americone Dream, which might be an acceptable substitute for Edy's Coney Island Waffle Cone, which was a favorite that I haven't seen in forever.

Updates:

1. I was mistaken in my belief that I was on the cusp of 10,0000 miles on the TT bike. Disregard.
2. No bike for me this morning but the hounds got on the trail of a cottontail. Hijinks ensued.
3. The pulled pork was not ready until close to 9pm last night. That was 14 hours in the smoker. We had enchiladas for dinner.

Perhaps your expectations of your tree are to high?

Velo Vol 05-04-20 04:57 PM

The only needed ice cream is chocolate vanilla swirl.

We've been working with Twin Six on our new club kit and, a few weeks ago, I sent an email over inquiring about bandanas, suggesting that they'd sell well if they had some that match some of their kit designs. The owner said that they didn't have anything, but that it was a great idea.

Not too gloomy for me, but I was not impressed needing to wear a thermal base layer, long sleeve jersey, and ear coverings in May :notamused:

Also, I got you by .01 mile in distance today  You win with your extra 300' of climbing though.
