So it's not based on an actual climb? What about Alpe du Zwift, is that based on the real Alpe?

UPS Tracking sez the Litespeed will be here next Tuesday. I'll have ground all my teeth down to nubs by then.

I saw an interesting thing on the tame foxes that Russian scientist made - he bred the least wary/most human-oriented ones for several generations. Turns out that a domesticated fox is not like a dog. Because foxes are more solitary animals than wolves, they don't bond to humans like the wolf-derived dog. They don't especially want to cuddle, for example. |

Anyone here climb the actual Alpe du Huez? People who have told me it's not that hard and there are harder climbs in Southern California.
Devil’s Kitchen in the Catskills is ridiculously difficult, like fall off the back of your bike steep. |

I love me some good climbs, but if >15%, I will pass. I recall trying to go up Smuggler’s Notch (in Stowe, Vt) a few years ago from the south, and it had to be 20% or more, I came to damn near a full stop and had to turn around in defeat.

I’d like to believe I could handle it. I’ve managed to stay upright through a lot of stuff, including clipping a pedal into the pavement at 30 going around a corner. Being in the pack makes me nervous though because I don’t trust other people.
