Are bikes right handed? There's a lot of extra weight on the RH side. The chain ring, the chain, the guard, the sprocket and sometimes a dynamo. Thoughts? |

I was working on a TV show that took place in the 1920's (Frankie Drake Mysteries) a few years ago, and went around and bought 4/5 DL-1s to use as props. During the process I realized that the later hub had a dust cap behind the sprocket that is absent on earlier models. It can't be retro fitted without some machining, but seems like it would be a good idea. FWIW the '62 hub shifts much nicer... |
New topic - Need a Rim!
I just went through the contents of the Rim Room. I thought I had a pair of Super Champion 58 rims, but I only have one! My 1952 Rudge Aero Special will (when she's ready for new shoes) need a Wolber Super Champion 58 (blue label) 32 hole 27 x 1 1/4" aluminum rim, NOT hooked bead. I already have a 40 hole for the rear. My old girl doesn't have the best complexion, but she is ladylike enough to play matchy matchy with her shoes. So one good Wolber requires another.

That depended a lot on the engine in front of it. The base started out with an inline six. My buddy's 33 had a 327 in it, but serious Drag Racers had a lot more. :eek:
