Speaking of gravel, a friend did the Belgian Waffle Ride, the 76 mile version. He finished strong and had a great time. 612 riders on the shortened ride. Lots of sand, he mentioned the sand, but lots of pavement, too.

Next change I want to make to the Holdsworth is R7000 shift levers. The 5800 on there work perfectly (thanks again Bah Humbug ) but everything else is R7000. No real reason to change other than having a matching groupset, but I think it would be worth it. The 11 speed Shimano just shifts so well I can't imagine wanting anything more. I have had the opportunity to play around with some 12s Ultegra though...the front shifting feels almost telepathic. So fast.

Okay, so what the R8000 will REALLY do will be to give me 3 more gears like I said, but 1 higher and 2 lower than I have now. The high gear will be the highest among all the bikes, and the low gear will be the second lowest.
