Some actual climbing! Riding in Calgary and area is a LOT different from riding in Shanghai!

!5 flat Florida miles on my 3 speed cruiser. Just starting back into biking. Always a history of a simple bike. I feel that high from the exercise, along with that special something from biking.....I'm hooked.

diphthong 07-17-23 10:43 PM

51-spot.

Just 1 mile as my beginning ride.

I have only had my bike for a week. I did 20.2 miles yesterday and if my sit bones weren't screaming I could have done more. My goal is 100 miles a week. I did 88 miles the first week. I'm fighting high temps, humidity and traffic now. You bikers are impressive!

Troul 07-18-23 04:04 AM

27 miles & if time was on my side, that'd be a higher #. #life

RLB2444 07-18-23 04:22 AM

Congrats

Slacker....

Suffered through a massive climbing effort on Rouvy today, 11 miles 3600 ft, 5% avg incline... 13% on the last quarter mile... uggg....

SpeedyBlueBiker 07-18-23 08:47 PM

A nice 82 miles today on a sunny PNW day. It was nice that it wasn't too hot as much of the USA is suffering with some very hot weather.

rsbob 07-18-23 09:25 PM

71 miles with 3800’

105 miles. Was a nice semi cool ride. Dirty from the previous days rain..

jaxgtr 07-21-23 08:30 PM

Got in 30 miles and 1500ft today and 125 miles and 5400 ft of climbing so far for the week. The heat over the last 2 days has been brutal, so all miles indoors. It was triple digits today and the heat index was between 115 and 120. Has been a long time since we have had heat like this. Stay safe people, supposed to be like this on Saturday as well, so will be riding indoors again.

Today was a compact hill climbing day. 23 miles with 1800’. Most of the climbs were at 6% but the evil ones were 12% and one 0.70 climb started at 10 topping out at 15%. Ugg - but got PRs on all climbs and one fastest for age group.

So I finally got around doing the Col du Tourmalet east side route on Rouvy..... My legs are pretty much cooked for the day. I did a warm up route first, so ended up with a total of 20.2 miles and 5065 ft of climbing. For a flat lander, I am pretty happy with my just under 2 hr Tourmalet ride. I felt pretty good until it jacked up to 9% to 12%, then it got stupid hard and very slow.

Got up early this morning to beat the heat and rode a 40 mile loop, with 3000 feet of elevation gain. It was a combination of city streets and beautiful canyons. Really nice ride!

Jedneck 07-22-23 05:15 PM

44 miles w 4400 ft climbing 1/2 gravel

Guff 07-22-23 06:55 PM

10 days after breaking some toes kicking a bed, I managed to ride 16km in oversized running shoes on platform pedals.

JochenRindt 07-22-23 08:47 PM

40 miles on a new loop mapped out a new route starting in Jamestown, Indiana. It was a great ride for the most part. But because I hadnt reconnoitered the route by driving it beforehand, I was surprised by a stretch of gravel road about 1.5 miles long. I don't find gravel to be a problem as long as it's packed down well enough, but this was certainly not the case today. The front wheel kept wanting to dig in and shovel, but I was able to control it and keep going. The next time I do this loop I will take the next road 1 mile further north.

SpeedyBlueBiker 07-22-23 09:41 PM

On Friday I got in 44 miles and today I did 36 miles. Great riding on both days!

Troul 07-23-23 09:59 AM

Self propelled 89 miles against the wind & some moiiistness.

rsbob 07-23-23 03:38 PM

32 ‘recovery miles” at a leisurely pace which put my real recovery back a day.

Completed my first century today. 104 miles and 4,000ft of climbing starting on the southeast Connecticut and southern Rhode Island coasts back into the hills od \fRI and CT. Super fun ride even with the heat and lack of wind for the last half of the ride.

Broctoon 07-24-23 12:37 PM

17 miles with my wife early this morning, on our favorite urban river parkway path.
