Which wheels to use?

So I'm building out my first gravel bike and splurged on the frame and SRAM Red group set but am going to reuse some older rims for now until I can afford nice ones. I have 2 set of wheels I could use,

1. DT Swiss R470's 23mm deep with an Xdr hub(which I need( but they are center lock
2. Devox 30A Disc 30mm deep with Shimano hub but are 6 bolt(which is what I have)

The DT Swiss ones are 512g lighter as well. I know neither are ideal as one needs a new freehub which I'm not sure is even sold or the other needs a center lock to 6 bolt adapters. So which would you go for until I can afford to get a nice set to complete the build?

Based on that info- the DT wheels.

- 500g less weight- that's an entire pound.
- already has the XDR freehub you need.
- it's centerlock which is simply a better design- easier to attach/detach and no chance of stripping bolts.

The downside is you need rotor adapters or new rotors. Just get some new rotors and start fresh with the rest of your new build.

I would consider the tyre choice first then use the wider rim you have.
then when it comes to freehub, it depends what cassette you have or want.

On my shimano hub, i run 11s slx 11-46 because inexpensive and excellent shifting.
on my XD hub, i did run a 11 e13 9-46 but the shifting was not as good as the shimano and i now run a sunrace 11s 10-46 which is as good as the slx.

i have run sram 10-42 but they dont shift as well as the slx.

disc, i found the 160/180 slx centerlock is equally good (and 10g heavier) than the XTs.

considering cost, wear and tear and performance, I race with SLX/eagle/force1

Yeah I think I agree, any recommendations on adapters?

I would buy new CenterLoks and leave the 6 bolt discs on the other wheels in case you want to swap. maybe fewer potential issues with rotor position, etc...

That ^

I also agree with getting new CL rotors. If that's out of your budget, 6B-CL adapters will work.
