In daylight I usually set the Hotshot Pro to one of the fast blink modes....

I've run 6 speed Accushift with a Shimano SIS 6 speed freewheel and an 8 speed chain. Worked great as long as you paid close attention to trim adjustment.

+1. I'm willing to put up with a fair amount of "character" from my bikes (this is C&V, after all), but if something causes me stress or frustration over the course of a ride, it's not worth it.

those imron paint jobs are nice. I have a 1979 trek 510, full ishiwata tubing, in the same blue. The paint job held up great. I think the decals on your bike might be from the 80 s though.
