About a month and a half for me. I was nervous to move up to P/1/2 when I upgraded to Cat 2, but it turned out OK.

Yeah, not a ton of great options around there. I generally ride 47th once a week, but it's not super nice. A more pleasant option for your GF might be to take 6200S, heading East to Canal St....
