Sprint triple

I'm pretty happy with my "upgrade" for my Sprint. I got the Truvative BSA conversion and mounted an old silver SRAM Truvative triple. Since GXP bottom brackets only use the non-drive side bearing for...

Thanks for the model. That's a pretty pricey Indian model! https://www.reach2fitness.com/products/reach-invicta-spin-bike. You might try their customer service, but I don't have much hope.

It...

The bike

Hee hee, yes it is a Teledyne Titan, made out of Russian titanium. They have a rep of being "fragile," so I'm reluctant to let it out on the road (especially since I no longer weigh 74 kg). Setting...

Tubular tire on trainers

Firs of all, I'm cheap. I had a chance to use what was a nice bike half a century ago and allow it to graduate from attic to a useful piece of kit by hooking it to an indoor trainer. The tires were...

OK, what have you been riding recently? If you're moving from a fully tuned up road bike to a 50-year-old cruiser, yeah, you'll notice that it feels sluggish. OTOH, you can do a lot to make it more...

Search for message # 21892593. He used hydraulic oil, and it worked.

Their "description" of the oil sounds like sales blather. You're not going to eat it. I hope.

Inertia vs Watts

Um, the mass of the flywheel is only there to simulate YOUR mass on the road. Indoor trainers convert your work into heat -- eg. Watts. Higher end machines will have higher watt dissapation...

Resonance

Two thoughts: I have a magnetic (cheap) trainer. 1) In the course of my fiddling, I left the resistance unit loose on its pivot once. It made no difference at first, but at a certain speed, there was...

Another Teledyne: 6x freewheel

Steve,

HO HO HO. And so I am introduced to the joys of NOS on ebay. Exactly what I was thinking of, at eye-watering prices. Or I could get a 6x corncob for more reasonable $$$. These days, thin...

Another Teledyne & some questions

After a half century as wall art, I'm looking at putting my Titan (mod A3UIR, s/n 001128) on the road. When I put it together in the '70s, my goal was "light, but don't go crazy." The only...

SOME of us live in cobbler deserts, and some of us like to DIY.

BTW, you can get 1oz tubes of 5200, for about 50% the price (!!) of the 20oz tube. It is also easy to clean up, using paint thinner.
