The Kinlin is also alloy, but yeah the Mavics were "bomb proof". Correct me if I'm wrong, but those CXP30's even had eyelets?

By 90's standards sure, but by the early 2000's the Kinlin XR-300 was coming in around 460g and carbon rims with that depth are frequently around 400g.

Funny how perceptions change. These rims...
