The only problem with the rumble strips, is. While they will alert me to a vehicle behind me. They won't keep a vehicle from hitting me.

I did a check on the Bicycle Helmet Safety Institute(www.bhsi.org) website. The helmet is highly recommended. But also found it to be too pricey. I am not going to spend $200 on a bike helmet.
