The Boardman ADV 8.9 looks significantly better to me: wider gear range, tubeless tires/rims, better tires, thru-axles, etc.

And drop bars allow multiple hand positions which helps in longer rides.

I can feel/hear it when I'm in the extreme cross-chain gears and then I fix it (shift). I don't think it's that big of a deal - you're wasting a few watts, but it's the vibration that bugs me most.

Mounting rails are longer and tension adjustment uses regular tools.
