I'm sure it doesn't need to be an exact duplicate of the regular wheel. Does it need to have the same cassette? Will having a different cassette cause the derailleur settings to be off?

Thanks for the info. Actually I just learned that the SRAM shifter has 2 positions. The middle click that I hear is supposed to be a trim adjustment for extreme gear settings, to avoid any rubbing.
