And yet, it seems there was no 25.5" model offered before 1970, while the oval headbadge was found on the 1970 models, at least in the catalogs:

Recently picked up a 25.5" bronze green Super Course, which, as far as I can reckon from internet documentation, is a 1970 or 71. Would like to pin it down, if anyone can help with the info.

The...

50s-60s English Pierce-Arrow?!?

A friend has a Pierce-Arrow ladies bike, clearly not pre-1930, and labelled as made in England. It has what appears to be a single-speed coaster brake hub, stamped with something like "RESKION B"....

I didn't see a shim in there. Could have slipped, I suppose. I guess the Kalloy wasn't original, anyway - the seat is not the old Brooks B-15, either.

Thanks for the confirmation.

71 Schwinn Sports Tourer seatpost size

Just picked up a burgundy 71 ST - looked at the straight Kalloy aluminum seatpost, and it reads "26.6". I had read somewhere that the SS and presumably ST ran a 26.8. Can anyone confirm which is...

Here's a detail of the top rear side of the seatpost. On close inspection, it seems as if a nut was welded there originally, so I will probably try to drill out the bolt stump, tap the nut, and put...

Ah, that's part of the confusion. I believe that bolt welded to the frame had been sheared off at some point in the bike's past, because there's just a stub there. Guess job #1 is to drill it out?...

Can anyone post a closeup pic of the seatpost QR? I've been looking all over at pics of this type of bike, but can't quite figure out the mechanism.

white 700c tires?

Anybody know if there are any white 700c tires available other than the Vittoria Rubino(+Pro) and the Schwalbe Stelvio? I'd kill for a solid white 700x25...dirt notwithstanding
