If your 105 shifter are 9s, you're going to be limited to working within a 9s framework. A quick search on Amazon came up with 9s cassettes up to 11-50. Whether that will work with your shifters...

I took the bike out on Saturday afternoon, but didn't get far before a leaking rear tire turned me around to head for home before it went totally flat. On the few miles I rode it, everything seemed...

The big thing that puzzles me is that it worked well, right up to the moment that I replaced old parts with new parts. Then, when I put the old parts back on, they didn't work right, either. I...

It's not a spacer issue. The cassette sits easily within the range of the high and low limits of the derailleur, and there is plenty of clearance for the chain at the seatstay, when in the 11T cog....

Ultegra 6800 levers
XT 11-42 cassette
GRX 812 rear derailleur

I cannot get this combination to index properly. Not even close.

I'm getting over things with my 34x36 now (including some 15-17% stuff yesterday), but find myself wanting a little lower gear from time to time on longer rides.

There are a multitude of different...

I decided to go with the GRX 812 rear derailleur for the simple reason of keeping things simple.

I’ll stick the XT RD and Tanpan in a drawer in case I decide to go 11-46 in the future…or maybe...

I have a Garbaruk cassette on my MTB, and I like it a lot. I considered it for my gravel bike, but the only 11s options are 11-46 and 11-50, which aren't where I was wanting to go with this. I also...

Making the switch to 1x

Recent gravel rides have made it clear to me that I could make use of a little more at the low end of the range, and the top end of my current setup is unused.

Current: 50/34 x 11-36 (11s)
