I am squarely in your camp, and it’s not just about slowing down for me. I like my cadence to be in the range that is comfortable for my larger-than-average legs as often as possible.

My LHT has a 24x34 low gear. Just did a ride across PA with some double digit grades. Makes perfect sense. Want to go to a 22 up front, but that will require a new crank.
