SPD's have a small platform and pressure point, that, for me, caused numbness and tingling, and cold toes on a long-ish ride. Since I switched to Keo's, with a wider platform, I've not had a problem....

I'd have thought shorter cranks would be harder to turn.... why would a longer lever be harder to turn at the beginning of the power stroke... doesn't make sense. Sorry.
