I think you are right. I looked at the 1983 paint schemes and Royal Blue is not the color of my bike. The 1984 catalog has Mountain Blue as one of the options, and that spot on. So maybe a late '83...

I have 2 Yokota serial numbers for you. The first is a Yokota ElCapitan B90038856, the second is a mixte road bike (unknown model) 89051508.
