If no solar panels and not staying in hotels etc..

How can you charge your electronics, yet keep your bicycle and gear safe at the same time?

Let's say for simplification you're touring around the USA slowly.

You want to spend a lot of time on BLM land and camp in each spot for as long as possible.

Most BLM land allows 14 days before...

I've never ridden a folder for a long distance.. If I buy it and don't like I'd just resell it.

A Sawyer product and a Steripen (their is a high fault rate) so I think add some water purification tablets would be the best way to go.

TERN VERGE x30h for touring?

This would be for a lighter set up, even with rider and all food, water and gear I'd be way under max rider weight if that matters.

I'd do a bug/full bivy for airflow.. and the reason that over a tent is for stealth, easier to set up and take down.. weight.. I don't plan to use it in freezing or snow areas.

Brompton touring - standard, -12% or +8% gearing?

I've read about people doing both.

-12% lower gearing for easier climbing..

+8% for faster speeds and walking up steeper inclines..

Brompton's are already severely limited in gear inches..

Saw one yesterday and the bike shop owner told me it was really bad quality and it was priced at 7,800 baht, $243 USD.

He said the bicycle that was priced at $150 was of better quality etc.
