i searched the bmx section and couldn't find anything. i guess i thought that bmx bikes would have different maintenance requirements compared to road bikes or mountain bikes.

Alright, i tried the soda can trick, but handlebar still moved after a few bunnyhops.
I think it's because the part where the stem locks onto is squeezed smaller from over tightening or something.

alright, so i tighten my stem with my handlebars at a 90 degree angle to the floor. After a few bunnyhops, i notice that the handlebar slowly moves back, to the point where it almost hits my knees...

that wont work. i got my bike stolen with a similar lock. The cable thingy is thing enough to be cut. if you want real protection, get a thick chain or U-lock.
