Their site said they each had two gearings. If you look at them, the big ring is always constant. It looks like they just had two cogs, one on each side of a flip-flop hub. They weren't swapping...

Foot retention is a must, not just for skidz, but for riding fixed in general. Whether it be clips & straps or clipless, get something. Your shins (among other body parts) will thank you.
