I found an old handlebar-mounted reflector and modified it a bit so the mirror stem fits through the clamp. It feels sturdy, we'll see if it can handle the torque. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow.

Coolness. 99.9% of my riding is on pavement and all of my rides are fully rigid, so that isn't an issue. I'm really looking for torque(?) and range over speed; 15mph is plenty for me.
