I'll throw out there Peloton and Circuit. My '85 Peloton is exactly the same as my '88 Paramount. Different tubing but they weigh the same, too.

Yeah, just replace the chain. Eliminate it as a problem. $10 well spent. While the chain is off make sure the little wheels in the rear derailler turn freely.

I have ran 1 1/8th and 1 1/4 on my '81 Traveler. Not much difference. I certainly wouldn't make the switch unless you need to get new tires anyway.

Seriously, about 1000 miles split between the '85 Schwinn Peloton and the '81 Schwinn Traveler. Not of ton of miles but's it's the most I've done in 25 years....
