Me too. I have thousands of miles on my Surly LHT, carrying a lot of weight, no broken spokes, and they are still true. I did have them detensioned and retensioned by hand when I bought the bike....

You probably misunderstood what I meant by a 1x setup. I mean one chainwheel up front, and a cassette and derailleur in the back.
