WalMart wants to sell bikes. Disc brakes, just like suspensions, helps WalMart sell those bikes. It really doesn't matter to WalMart whether these items are beneficial or not.

Picked up this 1994 Parkpre Team 925 for the wife as a new trail ride. I didn't know much about them, but they have a pretty cool history. Solid components and that classic 90's MTB look and colors....

Deore drivetrain is sweet, and itís my first u-brake. Plenty of power to skid that rear tire.

If you want stupid fast and smooth, take a look at the Rene Herse Barlow Pass. 38mm. Comes in tan sidewall. Ainít cheap, though. I love mine on pavement and gravel.
