While I am very biased and very new to this sport, I love my Jamis Dragonslayer Pro. For $1099 it has some great components if you can get by with the 26+ "outdated" wheel size.Steel frame also.

The books offer so much more to the story. Great reading! The show tries to stay true to he story but obviously there are limitations.

IMHO the TV series is one of the best shows I have ever seen....
