I used to bring food and water on my long rides...

I used to bring food and water on my long rides but now I normally stop somewhere for a coffee and a sandwich. To do that requires me to bring a lock. So any weight savings just cancels out.

I'm 61 and the bikes I ride are all heavy- like 35lb plus pack. If I need to carry a bike up or down the stairs, I just lift by the top tube on the palm of one hand and hold the rest of the bike...
