I wax chains and have 2 Shimano and 1 KMC. I setup the rear derailleur using a Shimano chain. The 2 Shimano shift exactly the same but the KMC ever so slightly hesitates on shifts.

I think a solid light is just a point so it's hard to tell if it's moving closer to you. The flashing light will seem to appear in a different spot so you can estimate using 2 reference points.

I find it better to forcefully exhale using my diaphragm and relaxing on the inhale. When using my diaphragm, my chest doesn't go in and out eliminating the need to use my abdominal muscles.

I had a GRX disc brake that did the same thing. Tried cleaning but didn't work. 1 pad was always farther out then the other. I just repositioned the caliper to center the rotor. Solved the problem.
