Honestly the only time chain tension is going to...

Honestly the only time chain tension is going to hurt you is if your chainline is off and it is super loose. I usually ride with my chain pretty loose on my bikes.

get a shop to remove the old freewheel from the bike thread a bottom bracket lockring onto the hub and then thread a ss freewheel on this should give you a decent chainline and costs less then $25

I also ride maxxis refuse 23c and 25c

actually all standard track hubs come in 120mm as it is the standard OLD for all track hubs
so you could use any track specific carbon wheel I don't know why you would want to sail your bike around...
