yes one rim still has the red/gold foil strip. the other has been replaced with a basic rim strip. i guess one could make a replacement by cutting a long strip from a heavy duty aluminum foil.

thanks for the tip. im pretty excited to try it out actually - when I was a kid I did bmx dirt bike etc, but I had moved on to motorcycles by the time mountain bikes became big.
